Norvasc Information:
What is Norvasc?
Norvasc is a medication belonging to a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers. By relaxing or widening blood vessels, Norvasc improves blood flow. Norvasc treats angina (chest pain) and hypertension (high blood pressure). By working to relax the blood vessels, the heart does not have to work as hard to pump blood through it. Norvasc uses also include the ability to control chest pain through an increase in blood supply to the heart. Norvasc helps with the prevention of future chest pain, but does not address any chest pain once it has already started.
