Lotensin Information:
Lotensin is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). It is sometimes used in concert with other blood pressure medications.
This medication may be taken with or without food, and you should drink plenty of water daily while taking Lotensin. You will need to have your blood pressure checked frequently, and may need blood tests. Take your medication as directed by your doctor and prescription label. Do not change the dosage or stop taking the medication even if you feel well.
Before taking Lotensin, tell your doctor if:
· You have kidney disease or are on dialysis
· You have liver disease
· You have diabetes
· You have any history of heart disease
· You have any food or drug allergies
· You are taking any other prescription or over-the-counter medications
· You are breastfeeding, pregnant, or planning a pregnancy
Common side effects of Lotensin include cough, headache, and drowsiness. Call your doctor if you experience more serious side effects including a lightheaded feeling, little to no urination, high potassium, liver problems, or a severe skin reaction.
You should take the missed dosage as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it’s almost time for the next dose. Don’t take extra medication to make up for a missed dose.
Store Lotensin at room temperature away from any moisture and heat.

Warnings
Do not use this medication if you’re pregnant. Stop using Lotensin and tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant. This medication can cause injury or death to an unborn baby if taken during the second or third trimester. If you have diabetes, don’t take Lotensin together with medications that contain aliskiren.
