Atrapro Information:
Atrapro is a topical gel used in the treatment of various dermatoses. It helps provide symptom relief, with demonstrated itch relief within three days. It is used in the treatment of wound care, itching, and eczema. It can also be used for relief of first and second degree burns. It is classified as an antipruritic hydrogel.
The gel should be applied to the affected area three times a day (or as needed). Gently spread Atrapro over the entire area, creating a thin layer of gel. Allow it to dry, and bandage if necessary. Shake before use.
Before using Atrapro, tell your doctor if:
· You have any food or drug allergies
· You are using any other prescription or non-prescription drugs or skin products
· You have any medical conditions
· You are breastfeeding, pregnant, or planning a pregnancy
Few side effects have been reported by patients taking Atrapro. Serious allergic reactions are rare but can occur while using topical emollients. Signs of an allergic reaction may include rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, swelling of the mouth, lips, face, or tongue. If any of those occur, seek immediate emergency medical attention.
If you have forgotten to apply Atrapro, apply it when you remember. If it is close to the next time you would apply it, don’t apply it an extra time. Applying three times a day is recommended, but follow your physician’s instructions.
Store this medication with a tightly closed cap in its original container. It should be kept at room temperature away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Do not freeze Atrapro.
As this is a topical medication, it is unlikely you will overdose on it. If you feel you have used too much or ingested the medication, seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222.
Warnings
