Zinbryta Information:

Zinbryta is in the monoclonal antibodies class of drugs. It may be self-injected once a month to help reduce flare-ups in people with relapsing forms of MS. It works by targeting and destroying certain cells. Doctors usually only prescribe Zinbryta when two or more MS medications have been tried without success, and this drug is only available through a special program for which patients must register.

Your doctor will show you how to inject Zinbryta and dispose of used needles. If you are still unsure how to safely inject this medicine, contact your doctor or pharmacist for help. Don’t use a disposable needle or syringe more than once. Keep all appointments with your doctor while taking Zinbryta; your doctor will likely schedule regular liver function tests.

Before using Zinbryta, tell your doctor if:

·       You are allergic to daclizumab or any other medications

·       You are taking any other medications, supplements, or vitamins

·       You have liver disease

·       You have a history of autoimmune hepatitis, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C

·       You have any kind of active infection

·       You are scheduled to receive a vaccine

·       You have or have had a skin disorder, such as psoriasis or eczema

·       You have a history of depression

·       You are breastfeeding, pregnant, or planning a pregnancy

Zinbryta may cause dry or flaky skin, a rash, or mouth pain. If you have any side effects that become severe or interfere with your daily activities, tell your doctor. Call your doctor right away if you experience any signs of a new infection, including cold- or flu-like symptoms or painful urination. You should also call your doctor right away if you experience new or worsening depression. Your doctor may alter or delay your treatment if you experience certain side effects.

Inject the missed dose as soon as you remember, unless more than two weeks have passed since the time you were supposed to administer the dose. In this case, skip the missed dose. Do not inject two doses close to the same time in an effort to catch up.

Keep Zinbryta in its original packaging and store it in the refrigerator (it is also acceptable to store a carton of this medicine at room temperature for up to 30 days). Remove a vial from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before a scheduled injection to allow the medicine to reach room temperature. Don’t put a vial back in the refrigerator after allowing it to warm up. Inspect each vial before use; if the medicine has become cloudy or has particles floating in it, throw it out and call your pharmacist. After an injection, throw your used needle and syringe away in a puncture-proof container. Contact your pharmacist if you have additional questions about how to safely dispose of this medicine.

Because Zinbryta comes in single-dose vials, you are unlikely to overdose on this medication when using it as prescribed. However, if you believe that you or someone in your home has used too much of this medicine, call Poison Control (1-800-222-1222) to find out what to do.

Zinbryta may cause serious liver problems. Call your doctor right away if you experience persistent nausea, vomiting, unusual fatigue, loss of appetite, clay-colored stools, dark urine, or jaundice. Zinbryta may also make you more vulnerable to infections; call your doctor right away if you have any signs of a new infection, and avoid receiving any live vaccines while you’re using this drug.

Zinbryta is a specialty branded drug and doesn’t have a generic equivalent. It is the only drug in its class indicated for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis. If you have already tried several MS medications and your doctor has decided this is the best treatment option for you, remember to get a Zinbryta coupon from HelpRx. You may be able to significantly reduce your out-of-pocket expense.
