Oxycontin Information:
What is OxyContin?
OxyContin is a prescription strength opioid pain reliever. It is used when the sufferer’s pain is severe or requires long term treatment. It is generally not prescribed for the first 24 hours immediately following a surgery or for mild, short-term pain. Initially, the medication should be closely supervised so that the dosage can be altered based on a variety of factors.
How do I take OxyContin?
Buy OxyContin in your local pharmacy using our discount card or coupons. OxyContin is prescribed as a pill in either 60 or 80 mg tablets, though lower doses are recommended unless the patient has a high opioid tolerance. The tablets should not be crushed, dissolved, or chewed. Within the first 24-72 hours of taking OxyContin, the user should be monitored for respiratory distress. The correct dosage varies depending on the opioid history of the user, though if it is the first opioid the sufferer has taken, a standard initial dose is 10 mgs every 12 hours. If the user is already taking opioids, OxyContin is introduced gradually by replacing part of the current medication with OxyContin. Do not undertake this process without doctor supervision.
