Eryped Information:

What is Eryped?

Eryped is a macrolide antibiotic, which fights bacteria that cause infections of the skin and upper respiratory tract. It is especially effective against Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, and Haemophilus genera, which cause a number of conditions when they successfully infect a body. Eryped is highly effective at combating bacteria, but is not a first-line medication as it is likely to cause additional disturbances in the gastrointestinal tract.

How do I take Eryped?

The method of delivery for Eryped differs depending on the condition begin treated. It is available in orally administered forms such as tablets, capsules, and oral suspensions, but can also be used as an ointment or gel or as an injection. Follow all directions provided by your doctor and, if you receive a prescription label with your medication, follow the directions exactly as they are written.

Before taking Eryped, tell your doctor if you have:

  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Myasthenia gravis
  • A heart rhythm disorder
  • A history of Long QT syndrome
  • An electrolyte imbalance
  • Medicine to treat a heart rhythm disorder

What are the possible side effects of taking Eryped?

Eryped triggers motility in the gastrointestinal area, which may cause minor side effects including mild diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, or loss of appetite. If you begin to experience severe side effects such as diarrhea that is watery or bloody, headache with chest pain and severe dizziness, fainting, pounding heartbeat, hearing problems, liver problems, or severe skin reaction, tell a doctor immediately.

What if I forget to take a dose of Eryped?

Take the dose that you missed as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time to take the next dose of your medicine, skip the dose that you missed. Be sure not to take extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.

How do I store Eryped?

Store Eryped at room temperature and keep it away from moisture, heat, and light. If you have received a liquid suspension of Eryped, you may need to store it in a refrigerator. Be sure to read the storage directions written on the medicine's label. Medicine suspended in liquid tends to expire after a short period. Throw away unused liquid as directed by your doctor.
