Why is this medication prescribed?

Duloxetine is used to treat depression and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD; excessive worry and tension that disrupts daily life and lasts for 6 months or longer). Duloxetine is also used to treat pain and tingling caused by diabetic neuropathy (damage to nerves that can develop in people who have diabetes) and fibromyalgia (a long-lasting condition that may cause pain, muscle stiffness and tenderness, tiredness, and difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep). How do I take clindamycin?

Depending on whether you have a skin condition to be treated topically or an internal infection, clindamycin comes as a lotion, skin cream, gel, foam, capsule, or a liquid to be taken orally. Dispense the amount of foam needed to cover the affected area into the cap or onto a cold surface rather than into the palm of your hand as it will melt on contact. Do not use this product more often than prescribed as it may irritate the skin.

• Precautions

Before taking clindamycin, tell your doctor if:

• You are allergic to clindamycin, lincomycin, or any other medications. If you will be taking clindamycin capsules, tell your doctor if you are allergic to aspirin or yellow dye.
• You are taking erythromycin (E.E.S, E-Mycin, Erythrocin, others).
• You have or have ever had asthma, allergies, eczema, kidney or liver disease.
• You are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding.

What are the possible side effects of taking clindamycin?

Side effects from clindamycin or clindamycin HCL include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain or cramping, rash or itch. High doses of clindamycin may cause a metallic taste in the mouth. Topical clindamycin products may cause contact dermatitis. In rare cases it may cause pseudomembranous colitis.
