What is Albenza?
Albenza is an antiparasitic drug used to treat neurocysticercosis, a condition caused by the larval form of a certain type of tapeworm. It may also be used to treat certain other kinds of parasitic worm infections. It works by killing parasites.
How do I take Albenza?
Your Albenza dosage will depend on your condition, weight, and response to treatment. What happens if I overdose on Albenza?
Overdosing on Albenza can cause serious side effects. If you or someone in your household has overdosed, get emergency medical attention or call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
Warnings
Limit your alcohol consumption while using Albenza, as the combination of this medication and alcohol can put you at greater risk for liver problems. You should also avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice while using this drug, because grapefruit can increase your chance of experiencing side effects.
